AN OVERVIEW OF RECYCLE ARTICREATE PROJECT.Recycle Articreate started as an idea when young ones were tested in terms of Creativity. In the course of this, a young girl (one of the participants) came up with a beautiful butterfly picture (artwork) made out of biscuit wrapper & disposable clothing beads (recyclable materials). The picture showed art and creativity, also the importance of recycling and usefulness of recycle materials. And that picture lingered enough to create Recycle Articreate.Recycling not really practiced in Nigeria, is a process of converting waste materials into new products (Art craft and items) to prevent waste of potentially useful materials. Recycle Articreate involves the use of recyclable materials such as wrappers, cans, plastics, papers, nylon, etc to create something useful, decorative or simply artistic. It would also promote the ‘Keep Lagos Clean’initiative as recyclable materials are properly disposed, recycled and kept for future purpose such as this.This will also help reduce and control energy usage, reduce air & water pollution and promote healthy living as well as create a clean and green environment for all.Recycle Articreate came to life in the year 2014 and had its first program tagged “Start to Finish” which was a success. We hope and look forward to doing better this year and in coming years.The project is ran by youths in our community, who are interested in Child development and creativity as children grow to be teenagers, youths and then young adults making us leaders for the future.Recycle Articreate is a work – in progress and would also provide job opportunities for job seekers (especially the youths) in our society as we grow in achieving our mission. It is also opened to volunteers, sponsors and partners who see our vision and are willing to invest in same thereby leading to a better Nigeria for the youth.We also intend to work with;Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA – Recycling Unit.Art Galleria (Nationally and Globally)Schools and Other Educational InstitutionsMajor Individuals and Organizations interested in our Project.
