Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston (EGMH) is a cultural and educational museum dedicated to preserving and promoting Mahatma Gandhi's legacy by cultivating the universal values of Truth, Nonviolence, Peace, Love, and Service. EGMH is the only freestanding museum in the Americas dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.Through exhibits, educational programs, and community events, we highlight the power of nonviolent conflict resolution and the stories of peace leaders worldwide — including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and the Dalai Lama — whose work carried forward Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence. We host a variety of events throughout the year, including our signature celebrations like 1000 Lights for Peace and the Walk for Peace, cultural and literary programs, fundraisers, and hands-on community workshops. Our goal is to inspire every visitor to embrace these values and become champions for peace in their own lives and communities.Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 02-0643033).
