Dorcas Meyers, President, Roc-A-Natural Cultural Foundation Inc is dedicated to educating, empowering and inspiring the community in the areas of health, arts, and culture. As an avid Staten Island community and cultural advocate, Dorcas has partnered with the JCC Beacon Program at I.S. 49 and other prominent local organizations to educate and empower, through annual Black History and Kwanzaa programs which were inaugurated in 2018 INCLUDING: “Taking It To The Streets: Free Friday Night Films”, July 2020 with Secta 5 Productions and First Central Baptist Church; Juneteenth Re-enactment, June 2021 with local artists; Black Lighthouse Keepers and Life Saving Service members, February 2022 with the National Lighthouse Museum and Staten Island Black Heritage; Juneteenth Freedom Parade, June 2022 with Friends Who Think Pink and Universal Temple of the Arts in collaboration with the Jubilee Collective; “Taking It To The Streets Back-To-School Film & Festival at Empire Outlets”, September 2022, Kwanzaa Celebration: 7 Days 7 Principles 7 Communities December 26, 2022 through January 1, 2023 with Janet G. Robinson aka "The Kwanzaa Lady and Gregory Taylor, Alkebulan Consciousness Rising; Black History Through Time and Sound, February 28, 2023 with JCC Beacon Program at I.S. 49, Alkebulan Consciousness and Jason Price and Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Tappen Park-Stapleton & Freedom Parade, June 17, 2023 and are growing from strength to strength.
