The Daily Sports Grill opened Memorial weekend, 1993. The idea for a neighborhood sports bar and grill was originated by a local high school football coach, Jim Barnett. He was of the opinion that the Mission Viejo area had way too many pizza parlors and he missed some of the classic sports hang outs of Long Beach (The Annex, Joe Josts, and the 49er). Jim recruited a few former Long Beach jocks, Jim Dunn and Mike Rae to be partners, and they are still partners. After two expansions, 1995 and 2002, the sports fans in the area - have gone from watching six TV's to twenty eight TV's and seating for over 150. The kitchen hasn't changed as much. The food service goal has always been to serve quality meals at moderate prices. So join us, sports fans, for a beverage and a burger in a "Cheers" type of atmosphere. Schooners are our specialty.
