Children First Education Fund

Children First Education Fund (CFEF) was created as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit scholarship granting organization (SGO) with a mission to provide school choice options for students with disabilities. The birth of CFEF came about because of decades of passionate education and school choice advocacy by the organization’s founders Jordan Clements, Kim Coleman and Doug Holmes. CFEF’s efforts are guided by Utah state legislation originally passed in 2019 and updated in 2024 called the Carson Smith Opportunity Scholarship. The Utah Code §53E-7-4 outlines the unique program to help special needs children get the education they deserve. This legislation provides for a unique special benefit to individuals and businesses who support the program. A 100% Utah state income tax credit is available to donors.
