The Ghost of the Mountains

Based on a story by Sujatha Padmanabhan and adapted for stage by Shaili Sathyu and Ritul Singh, this evocative play unfolds in the Himalayan village of Ang, where the arrival of an unexpected visitor throws the community into turmoil. As fear turns to anger, the villagers demand the outsider be removed—but one young boy sees things differently. With quiet courage, he challenges the collective rage and offers a powerful lesson in empathy, coexistence, and standing up for what is right.
 
Directed by Shaili Sathyu, the unique production features set design by Abir Patwardhan, music by Nihar Shembekar, lighting by Gurleen Judge, and choreography by Prachi Saathi. The result – a beautiful learning moment for children and adults, dressed up as story time!
