Masterclass by Guru Shama Bhate on Kedar Chaturang

Guru : A performer, teacher, choreographer, artistic director and thinker, Shama Bhate’s work spans 50 years. She is the principal disciple of Rohini Bhate, doyen of Kathak, and musician Suresh Talwalkar. She is a winner of numerous awards, including the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Maharashtra Rajya Puraskar and Kundanlal Gangani Award. She is the Director of Nadroop, a Pune-based Kathak institute. Bhate teaches at many state universities and is a member of advisory boards of numerous arts academies of national repute.

Masterclass- The chaturang is a comprehensive Kathak composition that encompasses all core aspects of the form. This particular piece is set to music composed by the legendary Pt. Dinkar Kaikini and Pt. Mohanrao Kallianpurkar, offering students valuable insight into the artistic vision of these revered Gurus.
