The play is an adaptation of Christie’s novel which was published in 1950. It is a Post Second World War setting at the home of Letitia Blacklock (a Victorian house) in the village of Chipping Cleghorn. An announcement has been made in the local paper stating that a murder will take place at Miss Blacklock’s home that evening. Some local residents and those staying at the house think it is a practical joke until shots are fired! It has the usual twists and turns until Miss Marple comes to the aid of the Inspector and solves the murder(s).
