Call To Action at Brighton and Hove Greyhound Stadium

As the RSPCA, Blue Cross and Dogs Trust step up their own campaigns across social media, asking for Greyhound racing to be phased out, our group of activists will keep up our monthly presence outside the track. Animal Welfare charity Animal Aid has also just launched their own campaign, boosted by the fact that Wales has already banned it and Scotland is close to doing the same. The public is wising up to the cruelty hidden behind the scenes for so long. The British love their dogs, but they don't like them being raced to death to make money for corporations like Coral.

We have two distinct zones at the demo, the Waitrose entrance at the top of Nevill Rd is an outreach area of dialogue, where we engage in conversation, share leaflets with all the facts and make sure both the customers going about their weekly shopping, and those entering the stadium's carpark to attend animal abuse masquerading as 'sport' are all aware of our reason for being there. We are grateful for the positive conversations we shared with two members of the public, one of whom we hope will join us in a future action.
Further down Nevil Rd, the walk-in entrance for the actual track is where we hold a more traditional and lively resistance to Coral's exploitation of the greyhounds. With placards and voices raised, we make sure the uneducated punters realise their non-existent compassion for animals will not go unchallenged. Two protests in one, depending on your preferred choice of activism.

We are a small but friendly and effective monthly campaign group who are always happy to involve new people in the cause. Don't be shy, join us. We provide everything you need, just bring yourself.
