You’re invited to learn about the first reconciling ministries congregation in Kenya. Come hear from two advocates for human rights, justice, and equality for LGBTQ persons in the church. Join us for conversation, Q&A, and appetizers at 5:30 PM on Monday, August 4 at St. James United Methodist Church.
We will hear from Rev. Kennedy Mwita from Moheto, Kenya, and Rev. David Meredith, Board Chair of the Reconciling Ministries Network. This event is hosted by the Hudson Valley Cooperative Parish of the United Methodist Church.
Rev. Mwita is the pastor of the first Reconciling Congregation in Kenya and founder of the Wesley Mission School—a school dedicated to providing education for all children, regardless of background. Hear firsthand how this inclusive ministry is transforming lives and creating new possibilities for justice and equity in Kenya. Rev. Meredith will join the conversation to offer insight on global inclusion work within the UMC and how we can support this powerful movement.
Please use the door found at St. James’ parking lot - at 29 Pearl Street, Kingston, NY. That entrance has an elevator. Free evening parking is available at both the Ulster County Parking Lot and at St. James Church’s lot, both of which are accessed from Pearl Street.
