San Jacinto from Palm Springs Tramway

The plan is to meet at 5:30am at the Scripps/Poway Parkway Park & Ride at 12016 Scripps Highland Dr to then carpool up to the Palm Springs Aerial tramway. The first tram is at 8am, but we can't buy tickets for it online. So, we HAVE to get their early and wait in line to buy tickets. Cost for tram is $37 per person not including tax and carpool.
There are a few other hiking groups from San Diego on Meetup doing this hike on Sunday as well, so we might see some friends or even make some new ones!!!
The hike itself is 10 miles with 2,600ft of gain, but we will be going above 10,000ft of elevation so it will be MUCH harder than you expect unless you are prepped for higher elevation.
Temperatures on Sunday should range from 49F to 66F, so it will be cool and comfortable.
If you have Diamox or other medications for altitude sickness then I would advise you take it before you go.
