Much of the highly acclaimed Turnstone album was recorded at Hertford St Andrew's on the 3 November 2024, and was released on the 11 April 2025.
We have now come full circle as the Gigspanner Big Band once again visit St Andrew's to perform the album live, in its entirety, on 23 August.
Characterised by riotous inventiveness, technically gifted individual playing and subtle collaborative interaction, this coming together of several of the biggest names on the folk-roots scene, combines a deep knowledge of roots traditions with a ceaselessly boundary pushing approach.
'Turnstone is a great example of how traditional song can provide a template for exciting new musical discovery. It’s also a career-defining release from one of folk’s most powerfully creative groups' - KLOF Magazine
As always for our folk gigs at St Andrew's, there will be a licensed bar selling local ales, wine and soft drinks and a warm welcome is assured!
Doors open at 6.30pm.
