Wollongong Against War and Nukes has been chosen for a two-week activist residency at Wollongong Art Gallery as part of the 'Greetings from Wollongong' exhibition.
Taking place over 25 July to 12 August 2025, we'll be turning the space into an activist hub!
Some of the highlights include:
☮️ Saturday 26 July and Sunday 27 July: Screen printing and badge making. Screenprint a t-shirt, tote bag or tea towel (or bring your own to print). Design and print your own badge or fridge magnet.
✂️ Saturday 2 August: Kid’s Activities. Make badges, paper cranes, and learn about peace.
🎶 Sunday 3 August: Beats not Bombs, music and words against war in the Chambers Gallery. Featuring Maurie Mulheron and others.
🏮 Saturday 9 August: Lantern Decorating Workshop and badge making.
☕ Sunday 10 August: Big WAWAN meeting and afternoon tea on our last day of the residency. Join us at midday to contribute to a discussion “A World at War - where to now?” How can activists make a difference in the campaign for a peaceful world where health, housing and education get funded ahead of increasing military and AUKUS spending? Bring some afternoon tea to share.
