WINE SEMINAR: Germany's Burgundian Varietals
Advertisement
What Germany is doing with 'Burgundian' varietals is simply amazing. The weather is just perfect with hot summer temperatures to bring the sugars up and brisk, cool nights to bring the acids up. Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc are performing out of this world, producing wines with classic fresh, aromatic fruit with super crisp acids. The problem is, so little fruit is planted, so trying to find a bottle can be quite tricky. And did we mention what they do with Pinot Noir? Germany is the second oldest country to grow Pinot Noir in the world. The old vines are proving to be extraordinary as current releases are rivaling wines from France for 1/3rd the price. This is going to be an incredible tasting, so make sure you grab your tickets early.
Amy Waller from the German Wine Collection (one of the most prestigious German wine importers in the country) will be leading the tasting.
COST: $65.00
