ABOUT THE STORY: The Carnivalia Comet is shooting across the late summer skies over phenomenal woods in what is expected to be a spectacular display of light that only occurs every 20 years. This deep sky phenomenon is for the ages, so bring the kids, bring the family, and come see John the Ringmaster and his astounding carnival acts. Visit the Cyclone of Chaos, The Terrifying Teacups, and The House Of Mirrors. Play the ringmaster’s game and test your luck at the prize booth. You want to be the winner at this once in 20 year opportunity. Time is short, so make the most of it and at the grand opening of Carnivalia. Themes this year include fantasy, mystery, time portals and values. This performance is suitable for families and created by kids ages 11 - 18.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: The group has worked joyfully to create a one act show incorporating the talents and ideas of our participants. This annual youth workshop at Brüka Theatre, a truly inspiring and creative experience in theatre creation in which young artists are nurtured in a positive and safe theatre environment. This is the only workshop developing original plays with participants in our area. This year’s workshop theme is “Carnivalia”. A group of kids experience a wildly magical evening at a vintage carnival. With the base idea, participants create their own play led by working theatre professionals in activities designed to develop and foster an original theatre creation employing imagination, concentration, and confidence with acting, movement/dance, voice, technique, character, theatrical design and appreciation of the theatrical artistic journey presented in a two week collaborative workshop followed by these public performances.

RESERVATIONS are available in person through the Brüka Box Office (775) 323-3221, online at www.bruka.org or at our new Brüka Studio 44 located next door to Brüka on First Street at 44 W. First St. Our box office hours open Thursday through Saturday from 4 - 7 PM and on occasional Wednesdays. We are closed on most holidays. Our 2024/2025 Season Tickets will be on sale beginning September 1, 2025. Individual tickets go on sale the Monday after the previous show closes. Check us out at www.bruka.org. Doors open 30 minutes before curtain time. There is NO late seating and all ticket sales are final.
PARKING
We suggest convenient parking in the Court Street parking lot across from The Pioneer Theater and walking across the new Virginia Street Bridge to Brüka, FREE after 5:00 PM and all day Saturday and Sundays. We also validate parking at the Parking Gallery on First and Sierra Street. The Downtown Ambassadors are present before and after performances for guidance and safety.

ABOUT BRÜKA THEATRE Brüka Theatre celebrates its 32nd season of live theatre in downtown Reno - Transcendence is the theme for the 2024/2025 season. As an artistic leader in the region, Brüka is recognized for innovative productions, exceptionally talented artists and an acclaimed Theatre for Children touring series since its founding in 1992. Central to Brüka is the commitment to the re-investigation of contemporary and classic plays and developing new plays within Brüka’s Artistic Collective, a group that includes winners of the Nevada Arts Council and Sierra Arts Foundation artist grants and nine local best actor honors. Brüka was named “Best Theatre Company” by Reno News and Review for twenty-one years. Brüka is a non-equity, small, not-for-profit member theater company and is a constituent of the national TCG (Theatre Communications Group).
