Summer is tomato time!
Join us for a 90-minute immersive exploration of heirloom tomatoes led by legendary local grower and Gold Ridge Organic Farms neighbor, Larry Wagner. This unique event combines education with delicious tastings as you discover the remarkable diversity of heirloom varieties.
You'll sample 10 to 12 distinctive tomatoes, including rich, dark-fleshed black and purple varieties along with vibrant red, pink, and yellow-orange types. Whether you're interested in enjoying them simply with olive oil and salt, selecting the right varieties for cooking, or savoring them fresh on their own, you'll gain valuable insights into maximizing their flavors.
Larry and his wife Cris bring 25 years of dedicated heirloom tomato cultivation to this class, drawing from their experience growing over 400 plants and 70+ varietals yearly at the nearby Volkerts Family Ranch. Their tomatoes have graced restaurant menus, supported local nonprofits, and delighted neighbors throughout the community—you may have even tasted their exceptional tomatoes on the pizzas served at our pop-up events.
This tasting offers a unique learning opportunity while celebrating the peak of tomato season.
