A workshop for kids interested in space and art!
Explore the fascinating world of asteroids and meteorites - ancient space rocks flying around our Solar System!
Make a colourful sun-catcher artwork based on the beautiful minerals inside of a meteorite and crash your own asteroid to form an impact crater. We will look at why some space rocks are weird lumpy shapes whilst others are spherical and take a look at recent space missions to collect samples from asteroids.
The sessions are lots of fun, educational with hands-on making too.
The workshop takes place on the sunny outdoor terrace at Dyke Road Park Cafe. Parents must stay for the event. There are sunshades plus tasty coffee and refreshments available in the cafe. (We will move inside if raining.)
Dyke Road Park Cafe, Brighton 10:30-11:30
£12 including materials, your child will make a space artwork to keep. Sibling discount.
With artist and teacher Julie McDermott. Full DBS.
