80th WWII POW Liberation Anniversary of Jerome Coty

Many of you are aware that my father, Jerry (Jerome) L. Coty, was a prisoner of war for nearly 3 ½ years in the Philippines and Japan during WWII. This September will mark the 80th anniversary of his liberation. My siblings (Barb, Pat, Colette & Jeannette) and I are planning an open house celebration at my home on Sunday, September 14 from 2:00-5:00. Whether you knew our father or are simply interested in this period in history, you are welcome to attend. To help commemorate this event, I will be releasing the expanded edition of Dad’s 1997 memoirs, Faith, Fortitude and Family. The 2025 edition contains additional details, including further research and documentation, and new first-hand POW accounts. You may bring a flash drive to download a copy or purchase one of a limited number of copies. Beverages, snacks, and good company will all be available. If you think you might attend, please email me so that I have approximate numbers for planning the event. If you cannot attend but wish to send me a flash drive and a self-addressed stamped return envelope, I will send it back with a pdf of the book (I will be returning flash drives sometime in September.). I have probably forgotten people in this invite, so please feel free to pass it on to others who may be interested. We hope to see you there.
