Join us for a powerful and inspiring evening as we screen "Rave on for the Avon" โ a feature-length documentary that follows a grassroots campaign to save a much-loved stretch of the River Avon in East Bristol.
At a time when only 14% of Englandโs rivers are in good ecological health, and none meet good chemical standards, this film couldnโt be more urgent.
๐ฌ About the film:
A heartfelt story of community, resistance and love for nature. Follow the journey of the Conham Bathing Group โ local swimmers who launched a citizen-led campaign to secure Designated Bathing Water Status for their polluted river. Their mission? To force polluters to clean up and protect one of Bristolโs most important blue spaces โ a place of healing, joy, and connection for so many.
๐ Raw sewage, chemical runoff, and council bans threaten not only this river โ but rivers across the UK.
๐ฑ This film isnโt just about the Avon โ itโs about all of us. It's a call to action for cleaner, healthier waterways and communities.
Letโs come together to learn, be inspired, and explore what we can do locally to protect our own precious water sources.
๐ฌ All welcome. Stay for discussion and connection afterwards.
