Tuesday Plein Air at DuPont Environmental Center Wilmington Riverfront

Host = Lynn Miller - From Lynn "There are several areas to consider setting up to paint; consider exploring before you lug your equipment around! Right next to the parking lot (before you go up the boardwalk to the Dupont Environmental Education Center) there is a shady little garden that is called "Hoot Hollow," so named because there's an owl statue in it. I'll set up in or near there so I can greet everyone. There's also a botanical garden a little off to the left. It's not as shady, but has lovely winding stone paths, flowers and shrubbery, and views of the city and Christina river. If you go up the boardwalk that takes you to the Environmental Center. You'll get nice views of marshes and the river. And of course the building itself would make for a great sketch or painting. The boardwalks down below the Nature Center give close-up views of the marshes; some parts of the walkway are under construction, but a lot of it is open. There is a pollinator garden in the back at the bottom level of the building (away from the marshes) but it's pretty weedy back there. There are restrooms inside the Nature Center, which opens at 10 AM, but also some restrooms on the outside of the building that are unlocked by 8 AM."
