Fail Better presents: Lépidoptérologie: BALKAVIK (Brussels, Belgium) / THE PETROV BOYS

The flap of a Balkavik's butterfly's wings in Brussels will set off a musical tornado in Brighton on the 9th of October.
It's hard to convey how excited and honoured we are to reunite with our dear friends at The Prince Albert.
For one night only, the Petrov Boys chaotic scientists will put on their entomology (lepidopterology, to be precise) hats and study Balkavik's notes flight patterns, how they adapt to environmental changes of touring in the UK, and how they interact with their new ecosystem (Brighton audience).
Guess who is excited to cover The Albert in oversized butterflies and moths.
BALKAVIK
BALKAVIK was born in 2021 from the boundless imagination of Brussels-based pianist and composer Victor Abel.
Inspired by Transylvanian, Moldovan, and Bulgarian suites gleaned from their travels, the quartet offers an energizing blend of instrumental music.
A dreamlike universe where Tim Burton and Emir Kusturica mingle, with frenetic dances and limping rhythms, strong alcohol, and gentle madness.

THE PETROV BOYS
The Petrov Boys are a 6-piece musical entity, known for their genre-blurring fusion of Balkan, jazz, rock, funk, and metal. With a unique line-up
that includes both a violin and a saxophone, they weave haunting melodies and powerful harmonies into their compositions.
Their sound is a labyrinthine journey, heavily influenced by bands such as Estradasphere, Darth Vegas, Mr. Bungle, Frank Zappa, Farmers Market,
and Secret Chiefs 3. Expect intricate compositions, unexpected sonic twists, and gruesome visual stimulation.
