Downtown Kingston’s newest public art initiative, Sit a Spell, is turning heads (and chairs)!
In this first edition, five downtown businesses have partnered with Kingston-based artists to transform classic Muskoka chairs into one-of-a-kind pieces of functional art. Each chair captures the unique spirit, values, or personality of its sponsor.
Join us Saturday, July 26, from 2 to 6 PM on Sydenham Street for a live painting event and vibrant mini market with this edition's sponsors:
• Midori – Stationery, toys, and mystery bags
• Something in the Water – Sample brews like Peach Crisp Sour
• McDonald’s – Free cold drink samples, giveaways, and merch
• Art Noise – Market coupons and local art connections
• Lay Low Cafe – Iced drinks and sweet treats
Come watch the magic happen with local artists Amanda Lloyd, EronOne, Tori Smyth, Lisa Leskien, and Sasha Jimenez French, and see the chairs come to life.
The final creations will be on display along Sydenham Street all summer.
