West-End Destringing - starting at Kelvingrove Park

Hey!
We're off on pigeon patrol in Kelvingrove Park and Partick!
We'll be meeting at the Stewart Memorial Fountain, in Kelvingrove Park. This fountain was erected in 1872, to commemorate the public services of Robert Stewart, who was instrumental in establishing Glasgow's water supply from Loch Katrine.
We'll scout for stringfoots in at least one of the park flocks, before heading off to flocks we're familiar with in Partick.
Please would everyone who's coming along sign up as "going" on the event? And if you change your mind - please cancel! The hosts need to know numbers to make sure there's a workable mix of experienced, and new volunteers.
Also, try to bring a supply of food to draw the pigeons to us! Types of food that work well are: dried lentils, scotch-broth mix, garden bird seed, unsalted peanuts (a favourite!), sunflower hearts, and dried rice.
Please also bring your own hand sanitiser, if you plan to be handling the birds.
The experienced folk will be available as coaches, and will be happy to lend newcomers their simple tools and equipment - so don't worry about this! We all use a variety of tools and techniques, so you'll get a chance to try things out, and decide what works best for you!
If you have any questions/suggestions etc, just drop them in the chat or dm me if you prefer.
We'll have two of our regular hosts at this event - Berni and myself.....Plus, I'm delighted to say we'll be joined by newcomer to the hosting role....Wee Steph!
I hope you'll be able to join us!
THANK YOU X
