Join us at The Bookman for an evening with authors Katie Kalisz & Maryann Lesert. They will begin with a brief reading followed by a conversation focusing on Women, Nature & Resistance!
Maryann Lesert's novel Land Marks is a story of friendship, hope, and resistance β a story of local, imperfect, creative activism as people from all sorts of lived experiences come together to protect the places they love from the devastation of fracking.
Katie Kaliszβs current poetry collection, Flu Season features themes of women and nature with a subtle twist on resistance. Katie wrote the collection around the themes of loss and dread, and resisting the tendency to give into feelings of powerlessness. Instead, her poems cling to hope, even in times of darkness.
