What would you do if you were ill or injured in the 18th century? Join Charles Brett, Apothecary-Surgeon, to explore period medical treatments and the role of medical practitioners in colonial North Carolina.
What You’ll Learn
As an apothecary’s apprentice, you’ll review surgery and bandaging principles to treat injuries, and explore medicinal plants. As part of this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to compound a medicinal recipe for treating ailments using period tools and techniques.
Ticketing Information
Tickets are $30 and include materials. Seating is limited.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are non-refundable.
Age Requirements
Participants must be at least age 13. Ticketed participants aged 13 – 16 require a chaperone. Chaperones are free but will not be able to participate in the hands-on portion of the workshop.
