Please join us for the launch of three new books, in a revival of
the Airfoil chapbook series:
Strange Attractors by David Abel
Poems for Shy Communists by Sam Lohmann
A Green Shade! by Chris Daniels
Copies will be available for purchase, as well as the few remaining
copies of earlier chapbooks in the series, by Maryrose Larkin,
Chris Piuma, Jeffrey Lee, and others.
David Abel is a poet and interdisciplinary artist, and the proprietor of Passages Bookshop. With four friends, he initiated the Spare Room reading series in 2002. Several new books and a cassette gathering recordings from diverse projects are currently in production.
Sam Lohmann is a poet and librarian living in Vancouver, Washington; a co-organizer of Spare Room readings; and co-editor with David Abel of Airfoil Chapbooks. He wrote Poems for Shy Communists (Airfoil, 2024) for you, maybe.
Chris Daniels, a feral translator of global Lusophone poetry, lives and works in Oakland, California. His books include book-length translations of Josely Vianna Baptista, Fernando Pessoa, and Adelaide Ivanova. One Impossible Step, the selected poems of Orides Fontela, was recently published by Nightboat Books.
