Join us for the 2nd Annual Giant Puppet Parade during the Kipona Festival to show off your water themed costume and puppet creations! Our Lead Artist, Nina Amaya, is creating a giant mud puppy puppet to lead the way alongside a mobile street band. There is NO FEE to participate in or watch the parade. 📍Riverfront Park, Harrisburg
The parade starts at Front & Walnut Street and continues down Front Street to the stage at Liberty Street
🏆$100 cash prizes will be awarded for best youth design, best adult design, and best group design.
🐉Create your own water themed costume or puppet to show off as you march through the parade route. Examples include a fish, narwhal, sea shell, jellyfish, otter, or even a river monster - the possibilities are endless! You can create a simple mask, full body costume, decorate a bike or wagon to pull your child in, etc. All costumes and puppets should be handmade.
📝If you plan to participate, let us know by completing the form below! Its not mandatory to complete the form but it is helpful to have an idea on how many people to expect. If you'd like to participate but prefer to assist a puppet that is already made rather than creating your own, please complete the form so we can coordinate with you.
