For YOGA students & YOGA Teachers - (you just need to know the basic yoga postures)
THIS WORKSHOP IS RUN AT THE YOGA PRACTICE - Glasgow.
This is a 2-hour workshop with Veronica Greene, building deeper connections in your body and mind!
We will use a YOGA DOWEL! There is this huge misconception that Yoga Props are for either lying around on or for people who are stiff or new to yoga!
Really, "PROPS ARE FOR PROS", and by that we don't mean for professionals, but we do mean "PROPRIOCEPTION"!!!
Proprioception is your awareness of where your body is in space - where the limbs are, what you feel and how to make changes.
It is our body's neuromuscular 'felt sense' and, of course, our link between our body and the brain, and vice versa.
You will be taken on a journey around your body using props to activate your body's mechanoreceptors. You will become aware of sensations that you have never experienced before and learn how to work your yoga poses in a safe, functional manner, WITH GREATER STRENGTH & AWARENESS for your body and your genes.
You will work strongly, and your instructor will release any tension at the end of the class, using specific deep stretches or myofascial balls. You will also end with a classical restorative section lasting 20/30 mins.
This means that although you will work, you will leave feeling you have been on a 2-week holiday - your body will feel light, as will your mind.
Your Instructor:
Veronica is a Senior Instructor & Trainer with Yoga Alliance Professionals with 33 years of teaching experience.
She has an engineering background and mind and develops programs to help develop connections between body & mind at each age & life stage.
She is the founder of Little Greene Yoga & The Yoga Practice (studio & online) and works closely with numerous educational departments, developing resilience programs for schools.
