The Wichita River Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT) is proud to present “How to Create a Pollinator Friendly Garden …without Completely Renovating Your Yard!)”, Thursday, July 24, 2025, 6:00 p.m. at The Forum, Club Room, 2120 Speedway Ave., Wichita Falls, Texas. After a short business meeting, Julia Eriksen will discuss how pollinators are the hardest working, yet seriously, most underestimated garden guests. From bees to butterflies to hummingbirds to moths, these small but mighty little creatures play a huge role in maintaining not only our ecosystems but also keeping our food supply continuous and healthy. It should be no surprise to anyone that pollinator populations are declining worldwide, including in Texas.

But the good news is you and your garden can help! Creating a pollinator garden does not require tearing up your entire lawn or engaging in an expensive overhaul of your yard! Julia Eriksen will present tips on how to utilize a few native plants from our ecoregion, making simple habitat tweaks, skipping the use of herbicides and other nasty chemicals, and resist tidying up, where you too can have a blooming, buzzing environment for pollinators. Come and find out exactly how!
