🗣️ Community Town Hall: A Public Forum for Accountability
📍 324 E Main St, Johnson City, TN 37601-5733, United States
📅 July 31st, 2025
🕠 6:00PM - 8:00 PM
Johnson City currently lacks any sanctioned space for open, resident-led dialogue with civic leaders. This event fills that gap by creating a structured, inclusive forum where community members can speak directly about their experiences, concerns, and visions for a better city.
This is unusual in city government.
City leadership is formally invited and encouraged to attend.
In the event of their absence, a symbolic panel of community representatives will model the kind of transparency and responsiveness residents deserve.
Agenda
5:30 PM – Doors Open / Check-In
6:00 PM – Opening Remarks (Moderator: Dave Adams)
• Explanation of Ground Rules and Community Agreements
6:15 PM – Introduction of Panelists
Ground Rules
• Constituent Speaking Time: 3 minutes
• Panel Response: 5 minutes
• Speakers may return to the podium multiple times.
7:50 PM – Closing Summary
8:00 PM – Adjourn
• Community connection & Networking time
(Assuming there is demand - we will keep the hall open as long as constituents wish to to speak and be heard.)
Event Goals:
• Provide a space for residents to voice concerns and be heard.
• Propose and explore tangible solutions to issues facing constituents.
• Model transparency and community-centered leadership.
• Strengthen local networks for collaborative action.
This is a space for truth-telling, idea-sharing, and local leadership - from the ground up.
