I’m not a Robot: A Reaction to Ai

My first solo show in the STL area in over a decade, “I’m not a Robot” represents a shift in the trajectory of my work. The exponential growth of Ai has led to a flood of imagery invading our digital spaces causing “image inflation”, essentially devaluing what was once a uniquely human craft. As I reflect on where I’ve been, where I am, and where I’m going; I feel myself trending away from the image and more towards the ultra-physical… visceral, textural, sculptural, process-focused.
Creativity has always been a uniquely human endeavor—but now, a new presence has entered the arena. Rather than feeling threatened, I feel a powerful sense of resistance. This disruption has become a catalyst, compelling me to evolve, to dig deeper within myself, and to explore what it truly means to be uniquely human in an age of emerging artificial intelligence.
