Music & More:
5:00 | DJ HOST - MR. MARK BERG-E's heart-lead mission is to craft playful and inspiring soundscapes. A true sonic alchemist, he weaves playful, genre-blending soundscapes that ignite the dance floor. From House and D&B to disco, funk, bass, and organica — his sets are built to uplift, inspire, and move you.
5:30 | SUMMER POP UP CHOIR! w/ Wendy Nixon-Stothert
6 - 7 pm | ALICK MAC is a Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter known for his raw, honest lyrics. Blending classic boom-bap with a modern edge, his music dives into tough topics like mental health, toxic masculinity, violence, and sexual assault—bringing energy, clarity, and meaning to every track.
7 - 8 pm | BEAU NECTAR is a bilingual duo made up of singer-songwriters Marie-Clo and éemi. Blending synth-pop and folk with nature-inspired themes, they create vibrant, intimate music. Signed to Indica Records, they released their debut album Two Lips in 2023 and dropped the first single “Apple” from their upcoming album Dandy in March 2025.
8 - 9 | DJ HOST - MR. MARK BERG-E STREET DANCE!
5 - 9 pm | CHARLIE KARUMI — More of That, Please! Charlie is a 2025 CV/Arts Incubator Microgrant Awardee, and he's bringing his pop-up podcast More of That, Please! to the plaza! This community-building project invites you to share what you’d love to see more of—in the world, your community, or your own life. Stop by his booth, grab the mic, and add your voice to the conversation!
*schedule subject to modest changes
Arts and Workshops (All art making will take place from 5 – 9 pm):
CV/Arts Art Wagon | Join in on our interactive community art project: Piece by Piece! Add your touch to a large collaborative artwork that will grow and come to life throughout the night. Once complete, the finished piece will be displayed in the CV/Arts Art Wagon for the whole community to enjoy!
Make Art Station | Create a fun, family friendly craft designed by the CVAG team.
Draw Together Strangers | We’re thrilled to welcome back Kelly Broza with her heartwarming and creative project. This unique activity invites two people—friends or total strangers—to sit down and draw each other’s portraits without looking away or lifting their pens. It’s awkward, funny, and deeply human—in the best way possible.
Renowned print-maker, ANDY Mac DOUGALL will be onsite, bringing his passion for silk-screening to PULSE. Come create a unique print designed specifically for this event!
Cumberland Forest Society will be running the bar, serving up refreshing drinks—including plenty of delicious non-alcoholic options for everyone to enjoy!
Summer Pulse on the Plaza continues on the fourth Friday of August, and September, each month bringing a unique celebration of community and creativity.
Brought to you in collaboration with Comox Valley Art Gallery, Comox Valley Arts, Elevate the Arts, and the DCBIA.
