Black Box, Low Tech Photography

Participants will learn the principles of photography by making their own miniature camera obscura; an early camera that projects the outside world as a reversed moving image. Combining the analogue magic of the camera obscura magic with their smartphone, they will capture what they see on a photo walk, and print their favourite photograph to take home.

This workshop is a part of the Art Fair Hamilton's Re:Connect Series

What is Re:Connect?
Re:Connect is about reconnecting with our hands — remembering the joy, focus, and fulfillment that comes from making something tangible. From candle-making to fabric dyeing, bookbinding to mending garments, paper-making to hand-built ceramics — this is a call to reawaken our tactile senses, share our skills, and help others rediscover the value of working slowly, with intention.
