On Monday, July 7th, the Veterans Drop-In Center suffered a break-in during which a US Navy veteran/volunteer was assaulted. The intruder also stole cash and deliberately spoiled seven months’ worth of meat by leaving it out of the freezer.
The Veterans Drop-In Center holds a special place in the hearts of Kegel’s staff and customers. To help this valued organization recover from such a difficult setback, we are asking for your support.
We are collecting grocery gift cards—of any amount—for Aldi, Meijer, Schnucks, Walmart, and GFS. Your donations will help restock their food supplies and make a difference for the veterans they serve. You can drop off gift cards at Kegel’s Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
To further support this effort, we invite you to join us on Saturday, August 9th at 10am at Kegel’s, where we will gather for a group ride to personally deliver the collected gift cards to the Veterans Drop-In Center. This is a wonderful opportunity to stand together as a community, show our gratitude to those who have served, and help restore hope after such a difficult incident. Your generosity and presence will make a meaningful difference—let’s rally together to turn compassion into action.
