Make an Instrument, Make Some Noise

Join Emma from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and special guest Ian (a retired Exeter University professor with a passion for instrument making,) for a creative, hands-on music workshop.
Together, you’ll build your own harp zither — a beautiful stringed instrument — and then learn how to play it as part of a group. We will prepare all the materials in advance, ready to assemble on the day, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm. No experience required.
This is a structured workshop (not a drop-in) designed for children aged 8–12 and their grown-ups. To help with making and music-making, parents or carers are asked to stay on site and are welcome to join in.
A free event, but places are limited — booking essential.
You’re welcome to bring your own lunch or snacks, and there is a cafe onsite.
Don’t miss this chance to get creative, make your own instrument, and make some noise!
Part of the Summer Book Quest: The Deep Sea Adventure at Exeter Library.
