Join local railway historian and Southeastern Railway employee Mark Jones, on free guided railway heritage tour of Whitstable, starting at Whitstable Museum at 3pm. The circular route will take in the sites of the railway stations and bridges past and present, and part of the route of the famous Canterbury & Whitstable Railway. In his classic railway uniform, Mark will reveal stories from the past, accompanied by historic photographs.
The route: Oxford Street, Belmont Road, Old Bridge Road, Bridge Approach, Castle Road, Teyham Road, rormer Canterbury & Whitstable Railway route, Station Road, Westgate Terrace, Gorrel Car Park, Whitstable Harbour, Harbour Street, and the High Street.
Meeting Point: Whitstable Museum
The walk is free of charge, but a donation to the museum would be greatly appreciated.
