An Instant Orchestra - workshop by Oxford Improvisers

As part of a day of celebration of improvisation across genre and culture organised by Oxford Improvises and friends we will be creating an instant improvising orchestra for all interested. The basis of this workshop will be the conduction system developed by Butch Morris that enables a large group of players of all instruments to work together under the guidance of a conductor who uses an agreed set of symbols to control the flow, dynamics, rhythms and entrances and exits of a large group of players - a scratch orchestra.

This is open to all instruments and all interested.

It will culminate in a performance of a Concerto for Abba.

We ask for donations to Summertown Arts Centre from all who can afford to give
