An ethnographic journey into the contested memories and identities of Opava and the Hlučín region—exploring how local communities navigate Czech nationalism, Silesian belonging, and the legacies of empire through oral histories, memorials, and everyday cultural practices.

📖 The Roma as Agents of the “G*psy Question” 📖
Drawing on local case studies, the book explores various ways in which Romani families in communist Czechoslovakia engaged with state assimilation policies while maintaining elements of their cultural identity.
