Sip N’ Science: Native Status of Plants
Friday, July 18 | River Bend Nature Center

Join us for an evening of science, conversation, and a deep dive into the complex topic of invasive species. Whether you’re well-versed in native plant issues or just beginning to explore the subject, this event offers fresh insights and engaging activities for all.

We’ll examine what makes a plant “native,” “nonnative,” or “invasive,” discuss the challenges land managers face, and explore how introduced species impact our local ecosystems. Through hands-on examples and thoughtful discussion, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of the ecological roles plants play—and what happens when balance is lost.

Bring a friend, grab a drink, and enjoy a fun, interactive evening with presenter Alex Nelson at River Bend Nature Center.

This event is 21+, and tickets are $25 for non-members and $20 for River Bend members. Wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres are included to make the evening even more enjoyable.
