A joint event with the Cornwall Heritage Trust (CHT) and the Cornwall Ancient Sites Protection Network (CASPN) as part of the annual Festival of Archaeology.

A mix of walks, stalls and activities, including for children to engage in such things as weaving, lucet making, wattle and daub making and artefact handling. There are also two 3-hour workshops (run by Devon and Cornwall Bushcraft CIC) on flint knapping and natural cordage making that can be booked at £30 each from the Cornwall Heritage Trust website.

The walks include one led by Pete Herring of CAS (2pm-4pm) round the Beacon property of CHT, including prehistoric round houses and fields, Early Bronze Age summit cairns, and later beacon site and late medieval and post-medieval mining remains. CASPN will lead a walk to Sancreed Holy Well (12 – 1pm), and the wonderful church and crosses of Sancreed are just down the hill. Glorious views of Mount’s Bay with St Michael’s (Mount) and St Mary’s (Penzance) facing each other across the water.

Further details and booking can be found on the CHT website: https://www.cornwallheritagetrust.org/events/
