Calligraphy Short Course: Uncial Script and Watercolour Wreath

The next calligraphy short course at The Art Room Sunderland will feature a guest artist for a special autumn project!
First, you will be introduced to uncial script calligraphy, which is a traditional script suitable for beginners, as well as those who wish to expand their calligraphy skills.
Calligrapher Angela Reed will guide you through the basics of writing with a broad-edge pen, before showing you how to form the 26 letters of the uncial alphabet.
Kerry Cook, who runs The Art Room Sunderland, will then take over for one of the six sessions, to show you how to create an autumnal watercolour wreath.
You will then use your calligraphy skills to pen a quote to sit inside your wreath.
The cost of the course is £60 and all materials will be provided.
Sessions will be held every Tuesday, from 1pm to 3pm, at The Art Room Sunderland, High Street West, Sunderland.
The course dates are as follows: September 9, 16, 23, 30 and October 7 and 14.
