We are very excited to be hosting a special talk and pottery handling workshop with The Leach Pottery on Tuesday 22nd July 10:00-11:00 at Redruth Library. This is a drop-in event aimed at adults, you do not need to book.
Join the Leach Pottery for an introduction to the pottery’s story. During the illustrated talk discover the feel of different glazes and the development of forms across the Leach Pottery’s 105 year history.
Founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, the Leach Pottery, St Ives, has forged the shape of Studio Pottery in the UK and beyond. Scores of potters, students and apprentices, from across the world have come to the Leach Pottery to train, creating a uniquely international environment in Cornwall and maintaining the Pottery's creative principle of East and West exchange. Today, the Leach Pottery Studio, Museum and Gallery continue developing Bernard Leach's historic legacy.
