Curiosity Ride - Drumcoltran Tower
Advertisement
This 24 mile ride takes in a few hills but it's worth it for the view from Drumcoltran Tower.
We take a figure of 8 route, heading out along the Glen Road and cutting across to Lochfoot. After a short section on the Old Military Road we turn left towards Beeswing but turn off before there to reach the tower.
After a stop to enjoy the tower, we'll carry on to meet the Kirkgunzeon road where we turn right, taking us back towards the Old Military Road. Once on it, we simply stay on it all the way back to Cargenbridge, from where we use a mixture of shared used paths and quite roads to get us to Suspension Bridge and back to the Whitesands and our stating point at the rowing club. https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/3498334300/
Rides continue regardless of the weather, unless the ride leader decides it would be dangerous (or no fun) – we normally don’t ride if there are weather warnings or snow and ice on the roads.
There’s no need to book but if you use Facebook you can sign up for the event via our Facebook page.
