In this digital era, where our personal lives are increasingly entwined with technology, the threat of online extortion—particularly through social media—is rising at an alarming rate. Blackmail 2.0 isn’t just a trend; it’s a critical social issue that demands awareness, understanding, and action.
This session aims to shed light on the expanding landscape of digital blackmail, its legal and societal implications, and how individuals can better safeguard their digital identities. Attendees will learn how cybercriminals exploit social media and digital footprints, the legal consequences and available redress mechanisms, and the key steps to recognize, respond to, and prevent online extortion.

This lecture series commemorates 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡, former Head of the Department of EEE and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at AUST. His legacy of academic leadership and visionary guidance continues to inspire generations of learners.
