Join us for the launch of My Mum is a Bird, the imaginative and warm new picture book, with author Angie Cui. Kids will listen to a reading of My Mum is a Bird, delve into bookish activity packs, and watch a special demonstration of The Bird Dance from Angie's daughter!
About the book:
A delightfully absurd and touching story about celebrating differences and loving your family - feathers and all. With hand-drawn artwork from beloved illustrator Evie Barrow, Angie Cui's debut picture book, My Mum is a Bird, is sure to swoop into your heart.
Today is Parents' and Carers' Day at school. I don't want to bring anyone, but my mum is coming anyway. She is a bird.
About Angie:
Angie Cui, originally from China, embarked on her Australian journey at eighteen. She lives in Melbourne with her husband and two children, whom she calls the ‘ABC Family’ – a fusion of four individuals and three cultures. Imbued with a profound appreciation for the linguistic richness within her family, Angie finds delight in weaving tales through various languages. Her aspiration is to craft narratives that resonate with children, enabling them to envision themselves within the stories they read. My Mum is a Bird, illustrated by Evie Barrow, is Angie’s first picture book.
