Join us for Sing Loud, Stand Proud, a heartfelt concert in celebration of Pride Week in St. John’s. Featuring the voices of Spectrum Queer Choir and special guests Edge String Quartet, this event brings together music, community, and reflection on queer resilience and joy. With songs that speak to truth, identity, and solidarity, we come together to honour the message: no silence, no shame, no going back.

Doors Open at 7pm

Parking:

First Light Centre for Performance & Creativity is located in the heart of Downtown St. John’s at 81 Cochrane Street, and there is no dedicated parking lot. On-street parking is available year round on Military Road and Bannerman Road, and seasonal on-street parking between April and November throughout the neighbourhood. For blue-zone pass holders, there is one accessible parking space on the ramp that leads up to the front doors.

Accessibility: First Light Centre aims to be an inclusive and accessible venue in downtown St. John’s and has recently made significant upgrades towards AAA Accessibility, although there are still features that may be challenging to navigate. We recently upgraded the ramp to our main doors for ease of access, but they do not have push buttons. Staff are always available to assist with the door during events; guests can knock on arrival or are welcome to contact us ahead of time to let us know about accommodations needed to help you enjoy your visit! The floor seating is all one level with a gentle downward slope leading to the front of the space, and there is one row with extra leg room that we designate as "accessible seating" because it has more room for placement of mobility aids. Please note that the balcony seating area is only accessible via staircase. There is a ramp to the washroom area, although there is a small lip at the base of the ramp and on a door leading to the washroom. All doors to access the washroom are button operated to enter and lock the door. We are pleased to offer the option of a complimentary ticket if a patron requires the presence of a support person. If you have any other questions or concerns about accessibility, or would like to request specific accommodations, please contact bGF1cmVuIHwgZmlyc3RsaWdodG5sICEgY2E= and we'll do what we can.

Community Spirit: Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries are accepted at the door. Donations go directly to tenants of First Light’s Indigenous-priority affordable housing units.
