Field Day at Fresh Pasture Farms – A Rotational Grazing Experience 🐑🐄🐓

Join Food Works and the Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition for a special Pasture Walk at Fresh Pasture Farms in Millstadt, IL (St. Clair County) on Wednesday, July 9th from 5–7 PM!

This Field Day offers a firsthand look at the power of rotational grazing on a vibrant, multi-species farm. You’ll tour the land with farmers Wade and Jamie, alongside Wade’s parents Norman and Sandy Sutter, and hear how they’ve transformed their pastures by rotating heritage breeds of sheep, goats, cattle, hogs, and chickens.

🌱 Learn how this family farm:
• Rebuilds soil health
• Encourages native grasses
• Controls invasive species
• Lowers feed costs & boosts animal wellness

The Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition will be on-site to share valuable insights, tools, and programs available to help you adopt regenerative grazing practices on your own land.

🍽️ After the tour, enjoy a farm-fresh, locally sourced meal provided by Café on the Abbey, featuring seasonal ingredients and good company.

📍 Located in St. Clair County, Fresh Pasture Farms is a proud contributor to the Southern Illinois agricultural landscape—leading by example in sustainable, animal-centered land stewardship.

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited.
