Troldsalen, an intimate concert hall seating 189 guests, is specially designed to deliver an exceptional chamber music experience. From the stage, you can gaze through the iconic window at Grieg’s little composer’s hut – the birthplace of so many legendary pieces.

Christian Sommerfelt
Christian Sommerfelt is a classical pianist from Fana, Bergen. He has played solo and chamber music concerts in Austria, Lithuania, Malta, Finland, Sweden, and many cities across Norway.
At the age of 13, he made his debut as soloist with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he has performed several times. He has also appeared as soloist with Nordic Harmony in the University of Oslo’s Aula.
In addition to many first prizes in the Norwegian Youth Music Competition, he won the 2019 Chiaro di Luna competition in Fermo, Italy. Sommerfelt currently lives in Vienna, where he is pursuing postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) with Prof. Lilya Zilberstein.
He previously completed his master’s degree under her tutelage in 2023. Before that, he earned his bachelor’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) in Oslo, studying with Prof. Håvard Gimse and Prof. Marianna Shirinyan.
