Virginias Synths and Synthesists are hosting our first Open Synth night! It's like an open mic, but no acoustic-only instruments.
schedule:
5 PM - doors open, equipment load-in, room reconfiguration, set-up for initial performers, sound checks
6 PM - brief intro by the organizers, then live music starts
8 PM - live music stops, begin clean-up (take-out trash), room restoration, load-out
9 PM - doors closed

The Open Synth event will be on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 6 to 8 PM ET. Filling-out this form does not guarantee you a spot in the performance line-up, though it helps us to organize the event, as there are limited performance slots (10-15 minutes each). There may be on-site sign-ups, depending on availability -- first come, first served.
Bring your own electronic equipment (at your own risk), including amplification, as only a small PA may be present. The venue is a small one, with a capacity of about 60 people, so not much amplification is needed.
The venue is a martial arts dojo by day, and is located along north Colley Ave, in Norfolk, VA -- next to University Pizza (U-Pie).
This is a free event, though performers are welcome to bring a tip jar for themselves. There will also be a tip jar for the venue.
There is plenty of street parking. You can even pull-up to the side street (50th St) to unload gear. Do not park in the parking lot of the apartment complex next door, or your car will be towed.
Even if you don't perform, please come out and support the local synth scene!
