Our Sunday night swing dance social is made extra special with a live band - and a performance from our Lindy Hop level 2C class!
The Cloud Drops are an all-star 8-piece (sometimes 7-piece) dance band from Seattle that formed specifically for the first year of the Stormy Weather Jazz Festival. The band features over 60 original arrangements and compositions by local favorites Jonathan Doyle, Jacob Zimmerman and Matt Weiner.
Lindy Hop is one of the original Swing dances, made famous in the ballrooms of Harlem. Danced to a wide range of tempos, the music is traditionally big band Swing from the golden era of Jazz. Improvisation and rhythmical play are tied to Lindy Hop’s styling and spirit.
Price: $35 for Drop-In and Dance, $25 Dance Only, $15 with a valid student ID.
Age Requirement: All Ages at The Emerald
Beginner Lesson: 9:00pm to 9:30pm
Social Dance: 9:30pm to 12:00am
